Features

Every feature replaces a piece of the paper folder

Not a generic SEL platform. The Stars Supporting Stars (S3) program, made digital — every screen uses the words your school counselors already use.

Tablet check-in

Two minutes, then back to class

A mentor walks the tablet to the mentee's classroom, picks their tile, picks Present or Absent, picks a Zone (Blue, Green, Yellow, Red), and submits. If they want, they can leave a coping note or a flag for the school counselor. The whole check-in takes about two minutes.

After submit, the tablet locks. There is no path back to anyone else's check-in. When the mentor returns the tablet to the counselor's office, a small reset link in the corner brings the next mentor's picker up.

  • Mentor tile content is up to the school: first name + last initial, student ID only, or both.
  • Optional school logo replaces the default mark on the picker header.
  • A substitute path lets a mentor cover for a classmate when their pair isn't there.
  • Read-aloud and dictation in 22+ languages, auto-set to each mentee's preferred language.
  • Student last names are never shown on the public flow. Mentees stay anonymous to anyone not running the program.
Live dashboard

See the day unfold in real time

As mentors submit check-ins, the dashboard fills in. Today's flags, absences, and the Zones distribution sit above the fold. KPI cards turn amber and red against thresholds you set. A school counselor walking in at the end of the day knows where to look first. No paper review required.

  • Today's check-ins, flags, absences, and remaining pairs in one view
  • Round trends, side-by-side comparison, and a school-year filter
  • "All Rounds" table for a quick read of every round at a glance
  • One-click printable Round Report — end-of-round summary with attendance, zones, and per-day breakdown, ready to hand to a principal or parent
  • Per-school color thresholds you can tune
Privacy & security

FERPA-aware by design

Privacy isn't a feature we bolted on. Each school's data is kept separate at every step. Names on the tablet are minimized to first name + last initial by default, so a misplaced device exposes the least identifying info. An audit log tracks changes for roster, rounds, and accounts so a district vendor review has clear answers when it asks.

  • School-level data separation
  • Minimal name display on the mentor tablet (first name + last initial, or student ID only)
  • Long-retention audit log for roster, rounds, and account changes
  • HTTPS everywhere, secure password storage, role-based access
  • Forced password reset on first sign-in for newly-approved accounts
For districts

Every school's data stays separate

School counselors and school staff only see their own school. School administrators can move between schools they oversee, with a clear indicator of which school they're working in. No cross-pollination of rosters, rounds, or check-ins.

  • Per-school configuration for timezone, student ID format, and dashboard thresholds
  • Clear "currently editing" indicator for users with access to more than one school
Program flow

The program's vocabulary, in every screen

Rounds. Mentor pairs. Zones. The "C" flag. The app uses the same words your school counselors already do. School counselors create rounds of any length, assign mentor/mentee pairings (with guardrails like no male mentor with female mentee), and check-ins accumulate automatically until the round ends.

  • Rounds with start and end dates, auto-counted school days, and exclusion dates for snow, teacher in-service, or single-day holidays
  • Pairing rules enforced at assignment time
  • "C" flag highlights mentees needing school counselor follow-up
  • Zones of Regulation framework (Blue, Green, Yellow, Red) baked in
  • Soft-deleted rounds kept for 60 days before permanent purge

See how it works

A short walkthrough beats any feature list. We'll show you the dashboard, the tablet flow, and how a pilot would work at your school.
